KP aquatics live rock unboxing

Set up a new tank bought 35 lbs of rock from Phil at KP aquatics. First I’d like to say communication was great and very good guy.

I requested the rock be submerged in water as I’ve bought rock from TBS and experienced zero loss of life on the rock. Phil accommodated and did as I requested.

I lost a lot of life as you can see in the pictures. The rock sat in the water overnight and I picked it up 10 min after it arrived at the airport around 245 pm. The rock has all sorts of colors however I wish I could of got all of the hitch hikers that come with it. It’s a lot of fun for me to look and see all that stuff come out at night.

I really think the only way to get rock from the ocean is if you can pick it up same day.

Anyways I couldn’t find any Unboxings online so here ya go.

Still no new critters rock looks nice though. small ammonia spike.

Nice Aquascape on the fly! I think you will be happy you got that. I used TBS years ago when I first started and wish I had again after I moved and set back up.

Yea there were several along with shrimp, couple urchins, feather dusters, parasitic isopod, bristle Worms and a few things I didn’t recognize all dead though from shipping.

Was the weather cold by you?
I had that happen once and it was air freight and picked up at the airport. I do not order rock till temps are over 70 now.
