Krad's IM 200 EXT Journey

Congrats to you as well! Not sure how much I can get done without the tank in place but we’ll see. I gotta modify some of the plumbing to plumb in my UV so I might start with that
I really wanted to go with the IM 170 but the door frames in my basement are only 28 inches wide so there wasn't any way to get a 30 inch wide tank in without construction (my wide would never agree to LOL).

Good luck with the tank! My 200 EXT has been set up for about 4 months and I absolutely love it.

Looking forward to watching this one. It will be nice having a separate spot for all of your electronics to mount onto.

Didn’t drop it down the stairs woohoo!

haha mine are 28 too, just had to turned to fit in height wise

Ok got to do some scaping today. What do you guys think of the arch and cave combo? I cemented the arch pieces but most of them I can move around.

I like it; some negative space for swimming and tons of real estate for coral.

Congrats! The hard part is behind you, now is the fun of filling it up!

Thanks! I'm hoping the cycle goes fast I had about 70lbs of rock sitting in a brute can for a year to seed the rest of the dry rock. Just dosed some ammonia to about 2ppm and will test tomorrow PM

OK I think I finally settled on the aquascape. Wanted to have a few flat surfaces to provide good spots for corals to encrust/branch out.

My plan is to keep SPS/LPS from the center to the left, and the island to the right for any zoas/mushrooms. I don't think I will have much softies in this tank but if I do I want them segregated.

These spots are my prime real estate for high flow/light sps and lps.

While I’m cycling I’m going to try and figure out how I want to run my ATO and dosing pumps and do cable mgmt it’s a mess already

That’s always the hardest part for me. I’m not good at hose/cord management. I try but can’t seem to get it.

ATO is set up and running and looks like the tank is ready for life this weekend. Super glad I decided to jump start a year ago and cycle some of the rocks in a brute can.

Seeing a little growth on the rocks but I’ll wait for a bit before I get a CUC, I was thinking a pair of clowns.

I think I decided I am going to route as many cables as I can behind the wall and mount the power strip on the framing.

I got some cable management stuff coming in today and hope I can get most of the cables routed without them being too short:
