Like stated above I picked up another frag station from Scott at the alternative reef at RAP. Figured I would take a FTS with it in.

And a closer shot. (Don't mind the closed frags. Just blew it off with a turkey baster)

Also as you can see in the picture I also picked up a frag station for the sand bed in an attempt the "clean up" the clutter on the sandbed. I'm running out of room...lol. Many will be gone soon as they are recent frags that I like to let heal in the tank for 1-2 weeks before moving to the frag tank. Probably not 100% necessary, but it makes me feel good. The frags I picked up at RAP are also doing well. Can't wait for them to grow!

Lol that's the truth. Pretty disappointed I thought I had sourced a fish I have been trying to find for a long time now, a super male ember blenny (aka stigmata blenny) unfortunately this is probably #4 or 5 I have missed out on. One day, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Early Monday morning (4am) I got woken up by a bad storm with heavy rain and some thunder and lightening. Noticed a strange smell coming from the room where the tanks are located. I searched for at least 45 minutes with no luck and was ready to call the fire dept in case it was something electrical in the wall. Before I did I decided to take one more look, turns out it was my skimmer pump smoking. Very lucky that the storm woke me up or it could have been much worse than a broken skimmer pump. I can't complain the pump has worked flawlessly for about 5 years. Only issue I have is that the OTP pumps have been discontinued. I ordered an aquatrance 1000s which is the replacement. Anyone have any experience with these pumps?

Not that I know of. When I found it the pump was not running, I'm not sure if it was or not before I figured out what was going on. Everything in the tank looks as if nothing happened so knock on wood I think everything is ok. Replacement pump should be here Thursday. Going to keep a close eye on the tank and add 1-2 small water changes into the maintenance routine till the skimmer is back online.
