KZ Coral Snow = Chalk CaCO3?

I’ll retest tonight. I’m so puzzled by this!

I actually wouldn't worry much over it. There's no concern that the magnesium actually rose like that (it simply can't) and trying to figure out such things is often challenging.

ok resurected.. calcium carbonate is what we are talking about is the ingredient in coral snow.. yes..

Another Question Randy.... does calcium carbonate... have any effects on alk or calcium levels over all.. in other words.. by dosing this occasionally to clear up the water... do we see any issues with these levels and need to adjust our two part or three part dosing if that is what we are using to maintain our levels.?

It won't supplement those things usefully (it won't dissolve), but if they particles are still suspended in the water during a test, they will lead to a false high reading as they will dissolve into the acid used in alk and calcium test kits.

good solid information.. thanks
