KZ coral snow?

Well, if Coral Snow & Zeobak together count - I just started using them last month. I was having an issue with cyano in one of my tanks - and doing all the usual and tried and true methods - and just could not clear it up completely. After about 1.5 weeks of every other day dosing with a combination of KZ coral snow & Zeobak - cyano is gone. After using this I also noticed that my water was crystal clear ..... thought the water was clear before but after the snow/zeobak treatment it was like there wasn't any water in the tank. After the first initial every other day dose I dropped down to 2x/week. It seems to me that I have a bit better colors and polyp extension - and the skimmer is pulling out even more than it had been prior to the dosing.

So, just to see - I also dosed it to my other tank that was not having any issues with cyano or anything else - other than some faded colors (high light, low nutrient in my opinion). This tank I've been dosing about 2x/week .... and have noticed the same thing - increased water clarity, colors deepening and more polyp extension.

Did it make a huge difference ..... well, in the tank with cyano, yes ..... in the other no ...... but I perceived enough of an improvement to continue its use .....:wink:

Nice observations KSzegi. Ive been using the coral snow for about a week and my cyano continues. Im not using zeobak though. Im thinking about it, but Im not sure how it will mix with my vodka dosing. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I think you would be fine with the addition of zeobak as it will feed off the vodka (carbon source.) KZ recommends zeobak and snow together for the control of cyano.
