I believe I have AEFW. I do not know for sure, but the symptoms are very similar. (I'm getting a magnifying portal soon) Many of my acropora have grown into the rocks. So I cant dip and it makes it hard for me to check underneath them for eggs.
Somethings that probably added to the problem is that I do not have a dedicated pest eater. In one of my reefs I have a melanarus wrasse and he destroyed all biodiversity in the tank. In this one I have all sorts of critters; starfish, non coral eating flatworms, spaghetti worms, fan worms, bristleworms, chitons ect. I would prefer not to add a wrasse, but if I have to then I will. Flatworm exit has Levamisole and that will cause a huge die off.
KZ flatworm stop seems like a good choice, for those that used it did it work? Will it harm any other worms and inverts? Is KZ coral booster needed?
Thanks and happy Reefing

It works but over time. It does not kill them but rather builds a slime coat on your corals and the worms eventually starve out. What really helped me was using this along with the UWC purge product; I would only use purge to knock out the large population and then build up my corals over time with FWS.

Purge is controversial because it doesn't kill eggs from my experience but it absolutely killed off LARGE infestations of these guys and that gave my corals the ability to recover. It took 6 months but after a good 3-4 months I am AEFW free and my SPS are really growing like weeds now.

If I ever get them again I am confident flatworm stop + purge will eliminate them. I now use flatworm stop as part of my daily dosing. Only downside is that it's pricey.

Total time for me was right around 6 months with a massive infestation in my 300 loaded SPS tank.

No harm done to corals but I don’t have flatworms to know if it gets rid of flatworms. If you use it long enough it should starve the flatworms out. The product makes coral unpalatable to flatworms they claim.

Thank you for the quick reply! Will purge or FWS harm my other inverts? (Especially worms) I have a huge population of many species and I fear a sudden die off will crash my tank.

Melafix. And even dip your boulders it works. No in tank cures besides hard work is going to rapidly accelerate your recovery.

it did not hurt anything in my tank, UWC is really responsive here and can give you guidance if you choose to go that route.

disagree with this 100%

quite a few folks have used flatworm stop and eradicated them over time. I went from infested to 100% free using in tank treatments.

It may be your experience but the thread is loaded with people who it didn’t work for. I have never heard 1 person claim
Melafix doesn’t work.
