L2 Vectra Pump screen

First thank you for any help. On the L2 I have added the recommended protection screen for my sump. Can this be trimmed at all? What is the minimum clearance the input needs from the sump wall without the screen? Thank you.

I have the S2 and have the screen on it and it's only 1/2" from the wall. It's ok that close because water is pulled in from the side.
