has anybody ever heard of a Labouts wrasse burying themselves for a couple of days? I’ve had mine for a couple of weeks now and he was super happy, eating like a monster and getting along with everyone in the tank. The other day I noticed he was missing. I first checked all around the tank to see if he jumped out but he didn’t and I have a pretty secure lid. Just wondering if this was common behave for them like it is for radiants and leopards.

They do not burying in the sand. He is either out of the tank, or else hiding in the rock.
How secure is "... pretty secure..." If he is not seen in the tank after you look everywhere on top of the sand then he is out of it. Not in the sand dead or alive.

He actually just came out surprisingly from a little cave underneath the rock work. Does look like he was hiding because he was healing some type of wound, almost looks like a scab that has been healing. Never seen anything like this on any of my wrasses

What other wrasses are in there with him? If someone was bullying him could cause him to go into hiding... and explain the wound.

He’s one of 5 but he is def the boss of tank, he does bury in the sand because I watch him do it last night, I’m thinking he might have went in and out of the sand a little too fast and gave him self the injury. I have the Hawaiian black sand so that could explain it. I’m just happy he’s ok!

Sand sleeping wrasse does not just dive into the sand like we dive into the water. They "dive" fast but in realty, the shakes and the shaking action cause the sand become permeable and they go in. There are all kind of larger rocks and shells in my tank in the sand, just like in the wild. They do not get injure from doing this.. It really neat to see wrasses does this although it is really fast.
Fairy and Flasher wrasses do not go into the sand, they sleep above the sand, in crevices and create a cocoon at night. Some of my wrasses Fairy and Flasher wrasses sleep right under the rock, between the rock and sand. Other sleep in the rock.
