Hey everybody,

Has anyone ever used Lace Rock as a base for a reef?

I am setting up a 15 gal. nano that I built to hold a few of my Zoa colonies.
The colonies I am planning on putting in it are on 4" to 6" rocks.

I am thinking of putting in some nice Lace Rock as a base and then arranging my colony rocks on that.

What do y'all think?
Anyone tried it?
Pros and cons?
Anything?

Thanks All,
Steve

Lace rock starts to break down and become soft over a long period of time.....I had some when I first started out and did some what of the same thing. By the time I removed all of the rock for real live rock the lace rock was soft and kinda crumbley....Personally I wouldn't do it....
