I had my LFS get a quote from an aquarium manufacturer (Planet Aquarium) in Texas for a tank that was 72x30x24. I wanted no trim, but, did want Eurobracing. I requested that the entire tank be made of 3/4" thick glass when the shop owner asked me if I wanted a PVC bottom tank or not. The manufacturer came back emphatically stating that they would NOT build my tank with glass bottom, and instead wanted to do a laminated, glass, plywood, and PVC bottom, or other such nonsense. I am old school -- I don't trust silicone bonding of anything other than glass-to-glass. What's the deal with this? Marineland makes their DD tanks, which are all glass, to an even greater dimension than what I am requesting.

That is wild lol I have a marineland 150dd love it probly best bet

I would never ever do a bottom of a tank glass. and YES I am talking from experiance. Read this post. look at page 3 for pics.
Reef tank disaster

30 years in the hobby (13 years reef), and I've only had glass tanks the entire time -- and not a one has even so much as sprung a leak. Proper support and leveling, and glass thickness has been what has kept me out of trouble, I suspect.
