Hi
Im renting a house with new carpet,my tank is a 200l aquaone on with cabinet.
Im thinking of putting click laminate flooring over an area around the tank for looks and to protect the carpet.
As they come in strips i will be glueing it together outside and checking for any leaks .
Would this work?
Im guessing probs might be leaks through to carpet warping etc.
Am i best just to put the cabinet on the carpet?does saltwater destroy carpet?

I suppose you could do that, or even easier would be a sheet of ply since it should be mostly unseen.
I always do a ply bottom on my stands and seal w/ polyeurethane, and I caulk seams w/ paintable/stainable clear caulking, that way it holds modest splills.
Some people use pond liner or linoleum.
The only issue I see is sometimes carpet fades where light hits, and not under stand, some carpet will fade except under tank.
I would not let this stop you though.

I wouldn't do it. Laminate flooring is not made to be laid on top of carpet. You have install it on a flat surface.
You would be best to use towels around your tank when working on it. I do this an I have laminate flooring. [emoji3]
