Landscaping
Got my rock and sand today for my 40 gallon breeder dispaly, so I started messing around. I made a cardboard footprint of my tank and started working with my chisel to make my landscaping and this is what i came up with.

very well packaged:

staright outta the box:

Preliminary setup:

looks nice! those are some cool shapes

but a 40 breeder is a shallow tank you may find you want a bit lower profile so your corals aren't sticking out of the water :)

I think you will get many different answers to this question. I feel that it comes down to personal preference and what it is that you like. My only suggestion is to make sure that you leave yourself with plenty of room to mount corals (which it looks like you did). The rock looks great by the way.

My only concern in the piece in the middle that looks like it's stacked on the lower piece. Is it super stable? It's stacked on end and I would hate to see it fall and break the glass. I really like the arch and the open "pass through" on the right. There's a lot of variety and visual interest. Plenty of room for corals too.

Yes I understand your concern, I plan to join each rock by drilling just deep enough to slide a nylon screw in a bit on each rock then add some aquastic bonding. That should take care of those concerns..
