Lanthanum Chloride Questions

Some of the public aquariums we visit do use lanthanum as a phosphate binder. I have used it in the past and good results. Just watch the alk. All of the concerns have been stated above, a little goes a very long way.

Well it did, sorry forgot to mention, my calcium also dropped from 450ppm to about 390ppm and my Ca reactor was under maintenance. Well hopefully i have attached everything back. Let's see if Ca and KH come to range.

How many dKH did the alk drop?

A 60 ppm calcium drop (if real) will take out at least 8.4 dKH of alkalinity, even if no lanthanum carbonate forms.

I know this is an older thread but I was wondering how long I should wait to retest Po4 after adding Phosphate E. I am setting up a new tank and my Po4 is at 0.57.
