Lanthanum Chloride

What is the issue that people are concerned about? What's supposed to happen to the glass?

I have no first hand experience but have read while searching how to use it that it can cause a haze on low iron glass. That or stains it. Like I said I have no first hand experience and I only used it outside like I noted above int he tubs I was using to clean the Pukani.

Just an update. LaCl has been keeping the PO4 at bay. My last test was .037ppm from my Hanna ULR checker so it has overall leveled off. I think I still get some low level leaching but not too bad. I will probably still dose a little more just to see if I can clear that last bit out or switch to GFO.

As an aside I decided to test Nitrate as well and I've never see the Salifert test turn immediately pink. I'm sure it is well above 100ppm in my curing bin so it looks like a 100% water change will eventually be in order. For a couple of years I had nitrate issues in my 60 gallon tank and it was clearly from a piece of rock from this batch . I naively thought my acid bath would've taken care of a lot of the issues but I was wrong this rock definitely needs treatment if you get the wrong (read dirty) pieces.
