Has anyone attempted to build themselves a larger tank say like 220 gallon plus? Is it possible? What does one need/
Need to know.. I haven't worked with glass much but I'm pretty handy. looking at if it would be worth it as all the larger tanks I have seen in my area are super expensive.

I have a 310 gal I built myself. But it is acrylic. I have worked very closely with a local tank builder that builds with glass. Some say it is not rocket science to build a tank. That is a true statement. However, think about the damage and or harm it can cause if you do it yourself... for the first time. Build a 30gal??? 40 or 50 gal sure give it a shot. 200+ Best left to the people who KNOW HOW. JMO

I don't think you can build a 220 for less than you can buy one for unless you go with a plywood build. Any larger and you could be looking at some savings. But you need to weight the cost/benefit of building your own tank and possibly have that tank fail or pay a little more and buy one from a reputable maker and sleep better at night.
