Large Fish: temporary holding container?? Need help ASAP

I have A 76 gallon tank setup which I'm gonna redo soon I'm changing out the sand rocks and lights. I will be adding two mp10s as well. But has of right now I do not know what to do with my culombian shark. He's about 6 inches long. What can I use as a hold tank, other than another tank, for him to live in temporarily? Big brute trash can or a long plastic tote?

Yeah Id use a tote for short term. I have a 150g rubbermade for 'just-in-case" circumstances

I was gonna put it in during the cycle of the tank? Is that too long?

No just treat it like another tank. Places to hide, water changes, good chemistry, etc..
