im setting up a 75 gallon soon and will be transferring everything that’s in my 55. Anyways, I want to add a fish that will get large, but will be comfortable. So I’m looking for the largest fish I can get away with. I’m debating a foxface, but I try to veer away from venemous things. I will have a pair of maroons and an engineer goby. I know the gong will get big but I won’t see much of it lol

You could also get a Dwarf angelfish

One Spot Foxface is one of my favs and liveaquaria gives it a thumbs up for a 75. Large is 6-8 inches. While Venmous it’s defensive but you have to handle carefully getting him in or out of a tank and working near him.

Foxface for sure. They are really interesting and will mow down algae. They're not aggressive. I think you would almost have to try to get stung by their fins.

It's really pushing it, but a One Spot Foxface could work in a 75 gallon, just get it small. No other Foxface would work. A Dwarf Angel would work fine size wize, but is more prone to coral nipping. A Coral Beauty could be worth a shot though. I have a One Spot Foxface and a Coral Beauty Dwarf Angel in my 90 gallon with Euphyllia Corals and they do well in my tank. As for the Venomous Spines, the Foxface only uses them for defense and as long as you aren't trying to do something ridiculous like petting it, you should be fine. Here they are:

Agree foxface would be a pretty good pick and I will always vote for these guys. Rabbits are one of my favorite fish.
Mine has never come close to stinging me and I can hand feed and pet it. That goes for just about all my fish though lol. The only ones that won’t are my wrasses (excluding cleaner wrasse) and mandarin.

Is it a reef?

The foxface is borderline, imo. They get pretty big.

I like the dwarf angel suggestion. If it isn't a reef, I would recommend the lemonpeel angel. They are among the most prone to eat corals, but they are gorgeous.

I have a one spot foxface in my 5’ 108 gallon tank.

While Live Aquaria lists 75 gallons for the foxface, most folks here will agree that LA has that one wrong.

They grow to 9+ inches and are active swimmers.

Dwarf angels are a very good choice for activity for a 75 as well as some fairy wrasse that grow to 5-6”. Very colorful and always swimming.

The One Spot maxes out at 8 inches in length, the Lo maxes out between 9-10 inches. I'm not saying LA has it right, i'm just saying the One Spot is a bit smaller than other Foxfaces and could do okay in a 75 gallon if purchased small.
