Hey guys I’m still currently looking for a display mangrove please send me a pm if you have one for sale

How big? You know they grow fairly fast? I'm in SW Florida and I have a dozen mangrove propagules rooting in water right now.

There is no 'trick' to growing a mangrove. They are very easy to grow into small trees. I picked up a dozen mangrove propagules off the beach the last time we were out at Sanibel. I put them all in a jar full of tap water and every one of them is sprouting roots 2 weeks later.

Looking for something a little bigger something like this will work perfect

What about in salt water tanks. Mine always go south on me.

in saltwater tanks they are easy to grow. i got some from the beach no roots or anything and put them down in my sump and they have rooted and sprouted leaves. they like to have its base buried into rock work or sand. once you have leaves on them spray the leaves off a few times a week to rinse off sw creep .

I've probably started 50+ mangrove propagules over the last 10 years. Like cubereefer, I just pick up propagules with no roots at all off the beach and put them in water (tap water or salt water, it makes no difference). They sprout roots and then I put them in some sand or soil (depending on whether they are in my sump or in pots out in our lanai.

Do they have to be in substrate. If so that’s probably why mine don’t do well.

I searched for a long time looking for a good size tree to add and finally just bought the biggest I could find on eBay. 2 little fishies sells some bigger ones at reef shows (well, when we had such a thing!) but otherwise it’s hard to find anything. I have them in substrate and put an ecotech freshwater radion over them and they have really taken off.
I added two batches, the photos are roughly from February of this year

They do not have to be in any substrate to get them started. In fact, after the roots start and a few small leave appear at the top, you can tie it off at the top of the tank and the roots will grow like 'prop roots' down to the sand.

They will do better with good lighting, they'll do better under white 6.5k lights than blues. Also they don't do well if you try to acclimate them to saltwater from fresh too quickly. Those are probably the biggest issues people have when new to growing them. But without knowing the specifics it's hard to say why yours didn't do well.
