Anyone running one of the purple ATB pinwheels on their Siccie skimmer pump? I replaced my meshwheel with the large pinwheel and it sounds horrible. Lots of noise and vibration. Wondering if anyone has tried them on their Sicce?

I too replaced one of my Sicce pinwheels for a large ATB ppw. It sounds bananas. The thing is LOUD! It seems to work fine. I just picked up a Dwyer air meter and I am going to test it against to the stock pinwheel before I change out both stock pinwheels.

our 1200LPH red pinwheel has no problems starting, no knocking, no problems maintaining RPM and pulls like a DEMON.

Sure Jon, NOW you tell us. ;)

What is the cost of your 1200LPH red demon?

I am also not very happy with the PPW impeller. Mine is quiet but it does not "look" to pull as much as the meshed impeller. I got my air flow meter also and plan to measure both the PPW and the mesh. My gut feeling is the mesh was doing a better job.

For some reason, I think the "Red Demon" name is gonna stick!
I'm looking forward to seeing what these will do on other standard bodied skimmers.

guys... Here's the deal. I don't know what it will do on a MSX/OCX skimmer yet. I have a guy with a MSX trying one later this week. I DO know that the "Red Demon" needs the matching venturi and doesn't work well without it. The matching venturi is VERY different dimensionally than the MSX reducer.

Is the person that is trying it on a MSX using the stock venturi or yours? I would be interested in trying it on my GS2. I would want the complete pump assembly.

BTW, I would have a low mileage PPW impeller to trade in. This is part of the government funded cash for clunker program, right?

the person is using the WM venturi+PW plus the red PW needs the black end bushing for the shaft... not sure if you guys have the black one or the white one.

I have the red end bushing but I would be interested in buying a complete pump. Including the PSK-2500, Venturi and Red Demon impeller.

For those following I was getting 21-22 SCFH with the PPW and when I switched back to the meshed I get 37-38 SCFH. The foam in the reaction chamber looked a lot better. The PPW is not the answer for me. It was quiet but it does not perform in my pump.

For comparison, my Bubble Magus NAC6 pulls 20-21 with a Atman meshed pump. Humm, about the same number as the PSK-2500 with the PPW. Maybe that should be a selling point for BM.

Any one want to buy a PPW impeller? Only driven to church on Sunday by an 82 year old grandma. I swear. :)

:waaaht: pm sent Jon

cveverly, Thanks for doing the testing for us, it tells me just about what I thought. Anyone looking at buying one of the PPW's DO NOT!!!!!

I got the WM Red Demon installed yesterday. It out pulls the stock PSK-2500, meshed PSK-2500, MSX pin wheel and the PPW in a MSX modified pump.

Any advice on how to change out the pinwheel?
Do you have to pry the yellow bushing off?

Grab the bottom of the pw disc and pull towards you. The yellow nut will pop off, then just drop the new pw on and put the nut back on.

Where can you buy the matching venturi at?

Thanks for the help.
You should have just said to stop being a wuss and pull it like a man.
