Large white spot on Dory

Can anyone help identify what’s wrong with Dory and how to treat. I recently noticed this large white spot near her tail. Also she’s been more shy and hiding in the rocks and not eating as much. I also seen her several times “scratching” on the sand/ rocks. Any info will be helpful, thanks.

What are your tank parameters?

Salt is not calibrated, I keep it .024-.026 on the refractometer …. Also just started running UV

The skin looks like it’s gone in that area, is that true? Or is it just a colorless spot?

the rubbing up against stuff would be a sign of parasites, but I think others could be of more help.

Yeah I’m not too sure about the skin being gone or discolored …. Kinda need a closer look and Dory isn’t being very photogenic… if I can get a few suggestions I can probably do some research and figure it out with a closer look. Problem is when you Google large white spot on fish you get flooded with ich, which it clearly isn’t

And also the tip of the tail is showing… maybe a bit of fin rot? I have a sailfin tang in there that looks perfectly healthy

bacterial infection. You want to treat it with either metroplex or Kanaplex by Seachem in seperate tank. My choice would be metro, You can add it with Focus to the food as a binder.
Vitamin deficiency may also play a role.
What foods are you feeding ?
What test kits are you using ?

Some tangs will get this from stress due to poor water quality but this again seems to be bacterial

Here’s everything I’ve been feeding. As far as test kits go, what should I be testing for ? I cycled the tank almost a year ago and haven’t been doing much testing. I know my phosphate and nitrates are high, I’ve used the salifert kit which is collecting dust in my cabinet. I have no corals yet and I didn’t think high phosphate or nitrate affected fish health.

as far as treatment goes, is there any reason I can’t/shouldn’t treat the whole tank? I only have 3 fish but a bacterial infection sounds contagious

Definitely Looks like a bacterial infection. Better treat it asap. I had one that looked just like that. It progressed and literally ate a hole into the fish and unfortunately killed it.

I have the same issue I recently added 2 new fish both the fish I added copperband butterfly and emperor angle have Sam looking spots also my dorey fish has it
Can’t figure out how to add photos
Copperband did have a white spot the store told me it was probably a viral infection that would just go away on its own but I think it’s spreading to my tank now or it’s because fish are attacking each other a bit
