Hi everyone. I've got these kind of crappy looking large zoanthids starting to encroach on my
acans. I don't really care for those zoes and I've tried to keep them
under control, but they grow so rapidly that I can't keep up with them. If I try
to trim them back they regenerate from any tissue left behind. I don't really
want to have to do that because I'm concerned the zoes will release toxins into
the tank. What are the chances that the zoes will take over and/or kill the acans
and other kinds of corals in my tank? Thanks in advance!

I have something similar going on in my 125 I got a frag way back when I 1st started a reef with like 3 heads on it now they are every where and have been in 3 different tanks I can't get rid of them. last time I rearranged my rock I tried to take every rock with them on it and turn it so they would be in the sand or another rock on top of them anything to try to keep them from going crazy again and so far they have been kept in check. I would say you would need to pull the rock with them on it out and wash em off but I would like to hear what others have to say.

sounds like MSD has blue clove polyps. i don't know if the will war or hurt each oher but, i would get a piece or two of a tonga branch rock or something and place it as a divider between the palys ad the acans. then every once in a while take the rock to the pet store for some credit....and pick up a new rock and anew coral paid for by your palys.
