Laser for Aptasia and other pests

I got a Blue Light Laser I am not needing anymore as I have killed all the aptasia in my tanks. Was looking to get $125 for it. Worked pretty well. It really only gets about a minute of killing power and the batteries need to be replaced. The laser still fires but it loses its intensity after each battery reload after that time frame. Comes with seven 16340 Batteries, charger, Laser(holds 2 batteries per) and red glasses. Payment through paypal. Will ship next biz day.

WHAT I DID WHEN OPERATING IS WAITED UNTIL EVERYONE WAS IN BED, PUT THE DOGS OUTSIDE DARK ROOM, USED FLASHLIGHT TO LOCATE APTASIA, AND ITS SNAP, CRACKLE, AND POP TIME. BUT I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT YOU WILL BLIND YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE IF YOU DO NOT HEAD WARNING AND OPERATE WITH CARE. NOT A TOY.

Bahahahahaha, this cracked me up. I have a laser as well and always feel I will somehow take a limb off of someone so I wait for everyone to be in bed too!

how many watts?

I believe it's 1 watt. It say 1000 mw so I don't know how that translates though. There is something therapeutic hearing those things crackle inside the tank

Accually I had a small piece of pulsing Xenia hitchhike into my sps tank somehow and it did the trick. Took a few applications but worked non the less. Never tried gsp

I have one that is 2500 mw and yes it will destroy things like set them on fire I even burned wood with it , lit cigs, and burned aptasia. However depending on the growth rate of the aptasia. You may never get it down. It takes several attacks to kill one if they are more than ide say 1/2". And depending on the duty cycle of the laser depends on how long the beam is effective if I'm not mistaking . Then turn it of and wait for the 30 min cool down and do it again. These lasers get warm to the touch. I find that it helps but doesn't do the job well enough or rather fast enough as you will spend a lot of time and focus on a tedious task and never enjoying your reef. Not saying don't buy one because it has helped me save many a coral in my tank but buyer beware dangerous work is at hand and it will be work

I've read somewhere that these lasers can actually burn the aquarium glass that you're shooting the aiptasia through. Ever experience that? If not then I might be interested in barbequeing some aips

No they do not burn The glass at least I've never had that issue on my aquarium and I've used it pretty extensively
