Laser for killing Aiptasia?

Was sent this video from a local reefer who uses the same laser for burning his Aips. The laser in the video is no longer sold. Was wondering if anyone has tried this and if the following are the right kind of lasers. I have some Aips that are upside down and in hard to reach places for using Kalk paste, but a laser might work.

The lasers aren’t great. I’ve wanted one but when I read reviews they are usually negative and only old for certain situations. There a a guy here who is the one that discovered the use of lasers and first promoted them and even he has changed tune and now says they are not great

IMO - I wouldn't mess with those. I've been through this before: kalk paste, peppermint shrimps, nudibranches, etc. Well, fret no more! I just use butterfly fish & filefish nowadays. I have a few aiptasias in the tank but their population is controlled. Good luck!

80 gal tank (currently 40, moving up in a few weeks or so), full mixed reef with lots of meaty corals. So butterflies and filefish are off the stocking list, except I will try a CBB in December (Dooly from SCR is QTing one for me).

Nudis last through the night I add them in my tank--5 wrasses make short work of them. Pepps I haven't tried in this tank, again because of the wrasses, but perhaps will give them a try. Situation is getting dire. I don't want them messing with my baby RFAs though.

Indeed - my butterfly was nipping at some zoas but she stopped now. Have you tried a filefish? It's a hit & miss but I recently got one that loves aiptasias.

Key question is what's the difference between the linked $35 laser and the $120 laser? That I don't know. I'd be willing to try a $35 laser if it'll burn some Aips. Just getting the ones that are in problematic places would be super helpful:

This cluster of Aips is bothering the orange Dendro NPS on the left, which is staying closed and not eating, and it's right above the green RFA. Plus, they are horizontal facing downward. The last time I injected kalk in them, they dropped it right on the RFA, which I then had to go blasting with water to remove while it was shriveling up. Here is where a laser would be super helpful.

I would do it when the wrasses are sleeping. The pinkies go into the rocks in their mucous cocoons and the other wrasses sleep in the sand.

About 500,000 gallons. Unless you want to have a couple of tangs, then it needs to be an even million.

I have the wrong combination of fish to merit Nudi's and Peppermint shrimp. My filefish has never tasted an aiptasia in its life and isn't changing that and the rock will always hide enough that it isn't going away.
I'm truthfully more likely to restart my tank after a few weeks of running straight RODI to take care of them

Not sure of the difference in them probably none the one I used was powerful and would kill anything it hit

with my luck the Aiptasia would outlive the Filefish.
Seriously though, i'm guessing you mean to essentially "train" a filefish to eat the pest nems. I imagine it'd work for the interim but once it was back in the display I can't imagine it'd continue the love affair with easy to eat fish food being offered.

But what about Sea Bass? They are ill tempered.

Yup, aiptasia planula are a huge problem. That's why I like boiling them. They can spew out their planula all they want, they'll just be running into boiling water.

Unfortunately, my tank is so packed now that boiling Aips just ends up hurting my corals/nems.
