Anyone have a link to a laser (to zap aptaisa) must be min. of 5watts and must be able to focus the beam? TIA

If you go that route please wear eye protection.
Those lasers are nothing to play with and the reflection off the glass can be critical
many kits come with protective safety glasses.

Now if people would just wear them.
I love lasers :) with my glasses on
yes, that probably is a problem for some. With the ones that came with my laser ( 1.6 watts) it is difficult to see anything except the dot where the laser is. Almost as bad as metal welding.

I too am interested in finding a true 5 watt laser that can be focused.

I found and use a 3 watt laser on eBay. Some guy retrofits flashlights with these blue lasers. This works well on most pests (yellow polyps, mushrooms, aiptasia).

have a link to the 3 watt laser?
Does it have the ability to control the focus?

Somebody out there in reefer land has got to have one of these gadgets??????????????????

No, I thankfully don't have an aptaisa problem (hopefully it stays that way) but if I did I would buy the laser I sent you too. I just thought that you might want to try a cheap method because some of those lasers can be very expensive.

TY ed,
I do not have a problem as of yet. But when they show up I would like to stay on top of the outbreak. There are so many on the market. I just want to be sure to get one that will be very effective. I hate wasting hard earned cash on equipment that "almost" does the job

I would find it hard to believe to get one that cheap as well. I paid $200 for the 3w laser I have. Here is what I bought from ebay. Works great.

After looking at different sites and prices, I find it hard to believe that you could get a true 5 watt waterproof focusable laser for $22.

Have you done any other business with this seller?

I'm not calling you out Ed, just the seller.
no, i've never done business with the seller, but I have done business with the website. Most of the ebay lasers are made in china and are being sold by a middle men. Alieexpress gets rid of the middle men by letting you purchase straight from china. I totally understand your concern. Have a good day :)

I used to have a 40w IR fiber coupled laser that would melt steel springs. Got them on eBay.

Also had a yag laser with a flash lamp and yag rod.

eBay is your friend. Goggles are a must.

So after reading some of the above, and shopping on line. Looks like I will pay near $100 for a 5 watt foucusable laser that will zap aptasia effectively ???

I just don't see that happening.

I've contacted several online and ebay sellers about them.
Even the ones that say 5 watt in the title, after further questioning will admit the actual wattage is much less.
Having said that, I have not heard back from the seller that Ed Urias provided the link to.

At best I would guess 2 watts.

Heard from a online seller last night and they told me a true 5 watt laser that doesn't have a fixed focus lens will be more in the $400+ range
