Purchased 3 expensive fish. Got free shipping. Order arrived with one fish clearly sick and dying. Fish lasted one day past the 7 day guarantee even though I had talked to them at least 5 times about the fish being half alive when it came in. They basically told me too bad. If the fish is not dead then it’s your problem. Years past they would extend the guarantee if a fish was almost dead. I guess I should have pulled it from the tank and let it die on the counter so they would honor their guarantee. In my opinion, it should say “limited guarantee for 7 days, based on how we feel”. Not the way to do business. My last email asking why they won’t honor the guarantee went ignored. Sorry but they won’t ever get another dollar from me. Sad.

Too bad, before I got more into the sales side of the business and made contacts at the wholesale level I bought all my fish exclusively from LA / DD.

I can say I never had an issue with them and was always happy. This was back in 2015 or so, so I don't know what's happened in the past decade, but was always a happy customer.

Stuff does happen, especially when shipping fish. I remember being on pins and needles waiting for my Masked Angel, Bandit Angel, Gem Tang, Crosshatches, etc...

Some of these were pickups at the airport and I was there like an hour or two early and probably drove 90 on the way home. Unfortunately it's just a crappy part of the business, but no way around it.

Same. I spent about 90% of my reef dollars with LA when I was in it 10 years ago. This shocked me and just makes me disappointed. Their fish aren’t cheap but I used to be willing to pay extra for their guarantee. I will no longer.
