Ok , The rev say's I have to update my tank build thread so, 1st let me saw My PC crashed recently so I had to wipe it & start again. I foolishly lost all documents& pics. Thought I had them but NOOOO!
Anyway, some time back I started dosing nutrients in this tank. The chaeto took off out competing all the HA that was growing in the ref. so that was good. Now I have some dino's & cyano in the front low flow corners.
I added more powerheads etc to take care of this. Keeping an eye on this. I think it's just new tank uglies. t he tank been up since August 2016 but never had any meaningful life in it. I only have 5 fish now. I have a full tank & Flutterbye pics for your viewing pleasure.

Hello 1, It's been a while. really not a whole lot going on. Been fighting a cyano out break & either dino's of diatom I don't know. Both spots are in the front corners where flow is low. I added 3 powerheads in the back pointed forward to the front corners. Been scrubbing rock & vacuuming the sand, so we shall see. Here is a pic for You. The quality isn't what I want. So "now" I have to work on better pics! Ya'll are making "even" more work for me. Thanks a lot ! ;)

Good afternoon Lady's & Gents. So nothing but algaes & bacteria issues to update at this time. I have cyano in one front corner. I have increased flow& vacuuming as much as I can. HPIM9206.JPG

I have brown stuff & cyano in the other.
HPIM9207.JPG
then I have bubble increasing on the top portions of the rock

Any way this sort of thing has always been typical for me. I have increased the flow & vacuuming as much as I can. Not sure what nutrient levels to shoot for either. This tank is nutrient deficient so dosing is a good way to do this. It's obvious I'm over doing this dosing though. If I can find a level to shoot for? I have been tempted to try the Vibrant. Also looking /waiting for a healthy fish to show up. I guess I need to make a Pilgrimage to the other side of town. Maybe there I can find a nice fish or 2 I want & maybe a coral for the 75! I hope all Everybody has a good day !
Ps It was interesting trying to keep my Mooching fish distracted at one end of the tank while I got a clear pic !

Ok So Revhtree wanted info on tank builds .
Again nothing really going on , No wait, a minute I had diatoms & cyano slowly getting worse . I was vacuuming & all. Nothing slowed it down. I dosed a"little" bit of PO4/ No3 then 8 days lights out. Only a kenya tree & fish . Turned on one light All cyano & diatoms History for a week now. I'm about to install a Toad stool from the 75 . Other than that? sorry no beautiful corals or fish YET!

Man, I feel you. I let my current tank cycle with rocks and fish for 10 months. ?Now that the tank is 15 months old it's nearly full, lol. The wait is so worth it.

Hey @cracker You could use a few emerald crabs, I think I have 4 now and I still have to manually remove and scrub my rocks when one gets bad. I hate those things.

Siggy, thanks for the advice I could use it. My concern is the emerald crabs won't like to come way up into the light & high flow I have .This is where this bubble is spreading . I have been vexed with bubble ever since I bought , years ago, 2 big pieces Lr from some place in
Ft Lauderdale. Ever since this stuff has been driving me crazy ! I even cooked/cured this rock for 111/2 months in darken out brute cans It took a year but comin back again:mad:
I swear this stuff, you could freeze dry & grind to a powder, put it in a clay urn& put in an Egyptian Pharaoh's tomb for 3000 years, add water and it would grow !

the toad was the 1st coral I ever bought ! Can't tell ya how long ago it got too big for the 75. Talk about going slow ! LOL

Did anyone mention water flow turn over rate. You could need a bigger pump to add more flow from the sump to the tank.water starts to get stagnant and needs to be turned over.

Hello doug, I assure You I have good flow . There are 250 gyres , one at each end & 2 wave makers along the back. It lifts the sand up a little. I use a Reef Octo Water Blaster 10,000 rated at 2600 gph . How much head loss? I don't know but it comes ripping thru the 20 inch Synergy over flow pretty good .
