Hey guys cycling a new tank here. Started tank July 13.

Test as of July 17

Salinity 1.026

Dkh 6.9

Cal 440

PH 7.8

Ammonia 0.25-0.50

Nitrite and Nitrates 0.00

Test as of July 23

Salinity 1.026

Dkh 5.6

Cal 440

PH 7.4

Ammonia 0

Nitrite 0

Nitrates 0-5 Hard to get accurate readings with API

phosphate .06

Using API for Cal, PH, Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates.
Using Hanna Dhk, Phosphate

I did do a phosphate test 4 days ago it was way higher at 0.26 since then GHA have started to grow in tank. Killed lights now.

Let me know what your thoughts. IMO my tank is cycling faster than I think. But I am using 10lbs live rock and 30lbs live sand

I only tested ammonia , then nitrite , ,nitrate during the cycling process .

All the other tests was only done after I added my corals .

Seems like your tank is cycled. You can add a few drops of ammonia and see if it drops back to 0 in 24hrs.

I’d do 20-25% wc and add fish.

You only really need to test Ammonia & Nitrite & Nitrate. Follow up question, what are you cycling with, i.e. what is your ammonia source? (Dead Shrimp, Live fish, bottled ammonia?). Did you use a bacteria booster (Dr Tims bacteria / etc)

I used the fishless cycle way, and it still took roughly a month to fully cycle. I wouldn't rush on this part. Also you don't really need to have your lights on yet, you have nothing in your tank. It just promotes algae. Towards the end of your cycle you can do a big water change to get rid of phosphate/nitrates before you put inhabitants in.
