Latex Primer?

Do I need to apply a latex primer to the back of a glass aquarium if I am painting it with a latex paint?

You need something for the paint to adhere to since you don't want to scuff the glass up. I hate when paint peels. We are talking about the outside correct?

I personally hate anything water base paint around wet areas, as long term it doesn't hold up well.

Go with the spray paint or acrylic enamel just give time to cure. If the glass isn't painted your 1st coat is vital as it's what you'll see when viewing your tank, if going enamel make sure your primer is tinted to the color you want, I've seen people want black but they used a white primer oops.

No you do not.

I used a black spray paint primer only. Worked very well.
