lava rock???

ok so maybe this has been asked before...
I always see posts about live rock wanting to be used account of it being pourses
why not use lava rock cleaned and washed???? I would think that it would be just as good or better... just a thought

I think because it leaches hard metals... Can't remember exactly...

lava rock is full of minerals... i have not seen it used successfully in a reef tank..

someone probably has, because the coast of Hawaii is full of lava rock..

i think it would make a great aquascape
