It’s good for freshwater. Reef tanks, usually no, just because lava can contain pretty much any concentration of heavy metals just depending on the eruption. Meaning it will leech unwanted elements into your water. People with Tahiti moon sand have found this to be true especially. Their sand is even magnetic.
