I feel bad but my lawnmower is a bully and he keeps the water column clouded with sand. He does this little side to side dance when he is guarding certain spots in the tank. Anything my watchman goby builds (tunnels) he wants, then claims. He also is aggressive towards my other fish. I feel my tank would be a happier place without him. Anyone ever have a similar experience?

Only took me 35 minutes to catch him, a little nori and a net. I attached the nori to inside the net, bam, caught.

Weird usually they’re peaceful fish. I’m sure you won’t have trouble rehoming though

I had one that was a jerk also. I used fish trap and was easy to capture him. I had Nori in the trap

Will you be returning him to your LFS?
Giving him to a lady at my work place. All my fish are celebrating, my clowns are all over the tank, swimming, like everything is new again. I didn’t realize what a damper was being put on all the fun...

No I asked a lady at work if she wanted him today, and she did! She has coarser gravel, she was excited.

I was convinced mine was a bully that killed a firefish and 2 cardinals. I watched him brutally attack the fire fish when it would come close to its territory. Unfortunately that meant basically 75% of the tank floor. When I caught him in the act, it was too late for the fire fish. I was able to trap him like above using nori/net.

Yeah, mine was getting more aggressive everyday, my diamond goby would dig a cave under my rock, and the blenny would take it every time. He guarded the whole tank thinking it was his. My tank don’t even seem like the same tank now that he is gone, all my fish seem so at ease now. Thanks for the reply, I thought it was strange, he was being so aggressive. He was the biggest fish in the tank and well feed...I guess fish have personalities as well.

I won’t tolerate rude behavior in a fish. “Capt. Call”. - Lonesome Dove.
