I have one of these in my aquarium and although he's not the most colourful of marine fish, his markings are quite subtle on close inspection, but what he lacks in colour he makes up for in character.
Depending on where he is in the tank and how the light catches him he sometimes appears a general light colour and at other times generally dark. Down to this depending on where he is in the tank he can be quite well camouflaged. On occasions you can spend ages looking for him and then all of a sudden you see him perched on a rock looking at you, almost as if he's taking the p***s out of you.
However, the last time I saw him was I think 3 nights ago on Tuesday. This is the longest I've gone without seeing him!

So I was wondering what's the longest people have gone without seeing one of their residents?

I haven's seen mine I a while now and am starting to fear that he has passed on to the great big tank in the sky. I was just wondering the same sing last night....

Yes it does hide but I see mine everyday. But I guess it depends on the Aquascape too. I feed mine every other day with 1/4 of the Veggie rounds and sure he grabs that right before it hits the bottom of the tank =)

I've tried mine with hikari algae wafers, but I've never seen him actually take some. Tends to go hell for leather at the side of my tank that's covered in algae. At least he did prior to going into hiding!

I have gone weeks without seeing mine thought for sure he was a goner then he makes an appearance i have a 210 reef so its not hard to lose him

Mines an Aquareef 195. It'll be a week tomorrow since I've seen him. Might appear at some point. Fingers crossed

Looks at your rock really hard at one point mine was staring at me and i didn't realize that he was there literally in my face he blended that well with the rock

Yeah they do blend in well. Have looked before for ages for him to be there looking at me! But it's never been a week between sightings before. Would normally see him everyday even its after several long minutes looking for him.

I can usually spot all of the inhabitants of my buckhorn in the span of about 15 minutes. Lawnmower blennies are so hard to see in the midst of LR, I usually spot mine cruising the frag racks.

I have seen something move in amongst the rock, but can't be sure if it was him or one of the other inhabitants.

Have checked my overflow in case he'd copied one of my clownfish who got in there the other week, but can't see him.
