So my 10 gallon tank completed it's cycle and I wanted to get something in there. I ended up going with a lawnmower blenny and a turbo snail. There was tons of algae all over the rock in the tank and now it's fairly clean which took a day. Going on the fifth day now with him and he has dug his cave under the rock and I have him eating nori. He eats it I've been able to watch him munch on it only a couple of times but it disappears from the rock I stuff it under. He is very shy though if I step into the room he darts under the rock and stays there I have to be sneaky to watch him eat like peek around the corner. Anyone have experience with them I wanted it because I heard they have great personality and it's going to be the only fish in the tank. If so how long until they start coming out and stop hiding all the time?

It will take a little longer for him to get used to you without other fish in the tank. When no other fish are visible, in the wild it is an indication of a predator in the area.

Also, since he grazes for food he doesn't associate you with feeding. If you can get him to take frozen or pellets, this may get him gradually bolder.

Ahhh makes sense. I moved the rock I was putting the nori under to the front of his cave and made sure he watched my put it in than sat there in front of the tank for a bit and he was slowly coming out more and more. He doesn't dart away like he was doing as much.
