Lawnmower Blenny not happy with new arrival

I just today bought a yellow watchman goby, and after acclimating it I added it too the tank and instantly my lawnmower blenny went right after it. Anytime the goby goes near the bottom the blenny goes right after it so it is staying at the top. Should I do something about this or will it work itself out?

I don't believe those 2 play well together. The only way it may work it self out is with one killing the other. sorry

two perching types typically dont get a long unless its a big tank =[

Your best bet is to separate one of them in a acclimation box (the bully) Pretty much a time out. You should also think about redoing your rockwork and making new territories. I hope this helps your situation. Keep us posted

I will try that right away. If it still does not work out then I will definitely separate them instead of letting them fight to the death Thank you for the help!

Have a Starry Blenny and a Pink Spot Goby. In the 20 QT, the SB tried to kill the goby. Separated them with eggcrate and 1/4" mesh plastic. Even then the SB for days kept trying to bite through the divider. Finally by the end of 30 + days in the QT. It stopped trying to go after the goby. Now, right now they are in my 90. They don't pay attention to each other. Fish are weird.

I have a starry blenny and a yellow watchman in a 50gal. zero issues. My watchman is paired with a pistol shrimp, so he never ventures far from his cave. I would put the blenny in timeout until your watchman establishes his cave area.

My lawnmower and yellow watchman are perching a couple inches away from each other, never seen them bother each other though the watchman was added during a tank upgrade so the old blenny territory would've been disrupted.

Probably depends on the individual fish, as many things do.
