He's normally bouncing from rock to rock and eating well. I havent seen him in 3 days. Do blennys like to hide under rocks like a Goby?
My Goby makes all sorts of tunnels and I wonder if hes hiding out. I have a mesh lid and cannot find evidence that he jumped.

Whats the tank. Does it have an overflow that the blenny could have fit in? I had this happen a few years back and he went into the overflow

Its a Redsea Max 650S tank. 150gallon display with weir teeth along the whole back of the tank. The overflow has a cap thats on it 99% of the time (and I havent removed it lately).
Unless he jumped out the only place he could be is under a rock but I havent seen him for feeding times in days. How bad would it be if he died in there? Its a large tank with hundreds of pounds of rocks that I will not remove to find him.

How stable is your aquascape? A rock might have shifted and trapped it. It's unlikely, but possible. I've had a few fish disappear for weeks at a time (in Evos!), so I'd wait around for awhile.

I wouldn't worry about shifting things around to look for a corpse. In most builds -- and unless the fish are very large -- most bodies tend to disappear in a day or two. And it's unlikely that you'll see any impact on your water chemistry with a build that size.

They sure do hide. Mine dissapeared for two weeks, then one day he show up face planted in the glass staring at me.
Great fun fish. Hope he comes out for you.

Very stable. Rocks are on the glass and not on the sand bed. With about 200lbs of rock I didnt want anything to move with a goby digging around.
yeah bennies like to dig and hide like Gobies
Thats what im betting on.

Man I hope so. I miss his grumpy little face.

My starry blenny went missing about a week ago. A few days later, I was vacuuming and found his remains under a cabinet all the way across the room... I hope yours didn't suffer the same fate but be aware they are definitely jumpers.

Mine ended up in the overflow... I've had several blennies end up in the overflow. I'd check there first... They can squeeze through the weir or just hop the "fence".
They have a tendency (and reputation) to jump... you may want to check around your tank.
As others said, they are great hiders... I'd look in the overflow though. I'm 2 for 2 with them in there.

I’m glad I found this thread! I have a starry blenny that is always about, so when I didn’t see him all evening even when I fed the tank, I freaked out and thought he’d hopped out and my dog ate him.. but sure enough.. I found him in the overflow!

pain in the butt to get him out but he’s alive and I’m relieved!
