Layer of scum on water

Hi looking for advice i keep getting a very thin layer of scum on top of saltwater aquarium, I a trying to remove it have tried with small net but the net is not fine enough to pick up the small
particles any ideas advise please

i was going to echo basically the same thing. redirect either powerhead or return. if its a smaller system a random flow generator seems to be a popular choice these days.

Good advice. I’d probably check your overflow as well, you’ll probably need to adjust your power head/heads to direction the flow towards the over flow if that makes sense. Maybe bounce the flow off the glass to cause more surface agitation like the previous poster suggested.

I didn't see that you stated you have an overflow. That IMO is the best way to keep the water surface clean.

ime yes and no. i was accumulating a slick on the top of the tank even with an overflow a few months ago that was resolved with modest powerhead adjustment.
