Just saw an ad for Lazer bond, a plastic glue that is hardened by a lazer light and supposedly lasts forever...seems much better than the endless glop of superglue which eventually breaks off of rock and frags...is anyone familiar with it and especially if its safe for reef tank use?...Sure looks like good stuff to me...like to hear opinions...Thanks...

I see the commercials all the time and think the same thing. It has to be pretty strong, it bonded a boat together after cutting it in half. I was also thinking about using it for baffles and stuff.

For those who might have not seen it.

Looks pretty cool. But you would still have to use super glue or epoxy to attach the frag in your DT unless you pull the whole rock out of the water... :/ but would probably be convenient for fraging if it works.

I also see this all the time n think about it's safety for reef use. It'd be awesome it looks for all kinds of diy projects. Skimmer stands,ato/dosing reservoir, frag shelves, sump baffles, building rock structures, acclamation boxes n more.

Its the same stuff dentists use now for some fillings and dental work... or at least a variation of it I THINK
On a Side note I use it all the time to fix those little plastic characters that my grandchildren seem to break from time to time... works well for that but i have never thought about using it in any AQAU type situation

ha, ive never seen/heard of it before. I dont watch TV/cable, but that stuff looks crazy! i have a feeling it doesnt work so well tho...

Its cool stuff. I was skeptical and its not super cheap. had it in my shopping cart a bunch of times but finally pulled the trigger. I was not disappointed bonds in 4 seconds . You can use it as a filler as well if you lay out several thin coats. the one i use is BONDIC but again not in my fish tank. but if i ever had a piece of plastic that breaks on a piece of equipment Im guessing i might at least give it a try

It's actually been used years for glass repairs it's how I first came across it. There's multiple manufacturers of it and have great reviews from when I was looking for glass repairs. Cost has come down but still not going to see it at a dollar store lol.

I used to use something very similar when I was more into tying flies for fishing. The product I used cured hard as a rock and very strong in seconds under the uv light provided. It held up much better than any 2 part epoxy I used in the harsh saltwater. Never thought to use it for the aquarium. Could be interesting.

Like I listed could be really handy for building stuff and its a clean look silicone can be messy lol.

I have bought it. It works ok but it still is costly. I paid $17 on sale. Super glue still seems better for the price. $1 for 2 pack at 99 cent store
