Starting to see some green hair algae pop up with Cyano here and there. It isn't major, but I know if allowed to spread it will cover the tank in no time. I have changed regularly my Phosguard and low range testing shows 0.02 very low and nitrates are 0.00. I believe whatever phosphate I have is tied up in the rocks.

Lighting has been the only recent change but time schedule is only 7 hours and green LED is low at 10% power. I am doing everything possible to maintain/eliminate nuisance algae and bacteria. The only thing left is the clean up crew. I never see them chomping on the hair algae or digging at the Cyano. I thought it was time to get rid of the slackers and hire some new hungry and aspiring crabs and snails.

I ended up purchasing a new clean up crew consisting of

10-Astraea Turbo Snail
6-Mexican Turbos
6-Electric Blue Hermits
6-Star Astraea's

I am hopeful these guys come hungry for algae and cyano. I have quit broadcast feeding and eliminated flake food. I now spoon feed my corals and feed pellets to my fish. The pellets work well because they stay together until they are picked up by the fish.
My tank is very healthy and parameters all in check. I just need to get rid of the deadwood and bring in some fresh recruits.

Position them on the hair algae if possible.Check your water flow for dead spots. Also check your ro di water for phosphates

Your right, best to also check your rodi water filters and change them every time they start to register. I purchase gallon jugs of rodi and test them too. I found some cheaper brands have a tolerance and will register phosphates.

Flow is important and I have my Rw4 at full blast in my tank. The only thing I haven't done is position the cuc. I did see a video on it so it is a good suggestion, Thank you.

Found a source of Phosphates in my ATO. I couldn't believe it. I don't feed my ATO but the three times I have tested it the results are off the charts. I am going to clean it out and possibly restart with a new reservoir. The only thing that could have affected the water in the ATO would be the nopox I use to dose, but I stopped that over a month ago.

You don't feed your ATO how cruel... seriously though glad you have found the issue.
