Yeah I wish that I could keep an eye on it and see if it ever fully splits, but it was already part of a frag pack when I noticed it.

Thanks. I didnt even notice it until I snapped the picture. I've seen PE polyps reproduce this way but never smaller zoas.

It was part of a frag pack that I sold to someone, so I'll have to wait to hear back from that person. In the meantime I will keep an eye on my hornet colonies to see if this occurs again.

Not quite. I think one polyp is splitting by means of fission. Its a reproductive method not often seen in zoanthids.
