LOL. Check out this purple hornet reproducing by fission:

Nice pic , I dont think they are reproducing lol, I have a RH doing the same and I have been waiting for months for the magic moment.

That is realy cool. If only it stayed like that then started to reproduce. Those guys would be worth big bucks to many collectors.

Yeah I wish that I could keep an eye on it and see if it ever fully splits, but it was already part of a frag pack when I noticed it.

LOL; for a short time, that is a true LE polyp!

So has it changed at all in the last few days...i am curious to see how it will continue to grow??

It was part of a frag pack that I sold to someone, so I'll have to wait to hear back from that person. In the meantime I will keep an eye on my hornet colonies to see if this occurs again.

Ohhh that is too bad...is that person on these boards?? I'm waiting to see LE CRazy 8's Hornets become the new craze lol.

ok.. what the heck!!!
how is that possible.. did 2 polyps somehow graft together?

Not quite. I think one polyp is splitting by means of fission. Its a reproductive method not often seen in zoanthids.
