We have had our 28 gal tank for 2 weeks now and can't decide what type of rock to get. Our LFS talked us out of buying his $5 lb rock, showed us the Aiptasia and a bunch of other stuff on it. He also said he gets most of his rock from people trading/selling it or people getting out of hobby which scared us a bit. He did push the Reel Reef rock he had in another tank at twice the price, we just didn't like look. We were going to order a box of live rock online (gulfliverock or Liveaquaria Fiji) but everyone tells us about the hitchikers they encountered. So we decided to buy dry rock with a small piece of live rock/sand and wait till it was ready. Now people are saying dry rock leaches and they would rather have used live rock. Which is the preferred way to go in your opinion? Wife is about to make it worlds most expensive goldfish bowl. Anyone have any recent experience/advice or recommendations we could use?

Im a huge fan of reefrocks.net. I have started 3 tanks using his live rock and have never had any leaching issues.

I'm on my 3rd tank as well with these rocks. A 90, 20, and now a 180. I have nothing bad to say about these rocks. Not something I can say about both BRS and Marco. I have used both and they needed extra cleaning via bleach and vinegar to combat the algae issues.
