I have a yellow leaf fish that has been having problems. He is getting a brown film all over him that is starting to get a little fuzzy. He hasn't eaten in a while. Has anyone seen this before? He acted like he was going to molt but it never happened.

Not sure. Definitely want a pic here to help figure it out.

How long has it been since he ate and what foods?

Molts usually come off white if you haven't seen it before.

He normally eats ghost shrimp and rosies, but has no interest in anything for almost 2 weeks now. His eyes are cloudy but they usually got that way before he molted. It almost looks like its algae growing on him.

Possibly algae. As they are ambush predators I have seen algae grow on scorps before.

Are those white spots normal as well?

Gonna tag in #reefsquad and @Lionfish Lair too

The white spots are not normal, I haven't noticed them until now.

I added a hammer coral 2-3 weeks ago, everything else has been in at least 1 month prior.

Any other symptoms? Breathing heavy, scratching against the sand or rocks, hiding excessively?

That a long time eating Rosies and he could be feeling the effects of an subpar diet. Is it possible to get around the other side of the tank for more pictures? Those spots are suspicious, his eyes are not normal and that shed isn't right either. He definitely looks sick and it could be ich. Often times when they have ich, though, they shed excessively, but not always.

No, the only thing he has done differently than normal is jumping more and trying to get on things like the powerheads.

90% of his diet is ghost shrimp, I only feed the rosies as a supplement to the shrimp. Is it not good to feed rosies? I will try to get a picture of his other side.

about once every two months. I have seen 3 molts and had him for about 6-7 months.

and trying to get on things like the powerheads.

This is suspicious to me. This and the spots make me think velvet could be in play here as well. I'd defer to @Lionfish Lair though as she's much more knowledgeable in these fish than I.

Varied diet is the best. If you are gut loading, feeding the shrimp first, it helps a lot.

Any other tank mates that could be stressors?

I don't have a picture of him normal color, but he is close to this pic I found online.
