Leaf in mixing bucket

I made 5 gallons of rodi water last week and just now got around to adding salt. After I added the salt and turned the powerhead on I noticed a lot of small brown things floating around that looks like parts of a leaf. Don't want to waste the salt but at the same time don't want to add it to the tank if it could hurt anything. Think I'll be okay or should I dump it?

pics? could it be buildup on the pump that broke loose from precipitation?

I've already removed most of it but could see vein like things in the bigger chunks i pulled out that made me think it was a leaf.

I make my water in the garage which would make sense how a leaf got in there

Just use the water but let it pump into a filter sock to catch any particles
