I guess I'm a bit confused. I bought an apex jr controller and have it all set up with auto feeder and what not. I would like to add a leak detection sensor for under the carpet but was told I need a module. Do I need this? Also do I need a module for anything or sensors such as ph when I want to add? I know the like 600$ apex system came with a "brains" module thing which mine did not, does the apex jr. Have that all built in?

Yes, you will need an Advanced Leak Detection (ALD) Module to connect to the Apex Jr. Then you can connect up to 4 leak detecting probes to the module.

You will need additional modules for pH monitoring. The module is called a PM1.

Can I connect an apex base unit to my apex jr in order to use the ph probe and what not? Or no?

The Apex Jr is the controller ("brain") - it just has (4) 120VAC outlets built in, whereas the Apex packages come with separate EnergyBars.

You cannot connect two controllers together.

You can add up to 7 modules to a Jr (the display does not count against that limit). You can add probe modules (PM1, PM2, etc), the Advanced Leak Detector (ALD), etc. as desired. Refer to Neptune's web site to see all of the available optional modules and probes. Products->Expansion Modules and Accessories
