I have a ghost overflow with the external piece and I was filling my tank for the first time when I noticed a chip in the bottom corner. Can this be fixed reliably without reassembling my plumbing?

sorry for the crappy pic. Taking this guy back today and picking up a new one. I guess that's why they say to use unions. This would've been a pain without having them! Now I just have to make cuts to put it back on.
