We bought a tank off of fb marketplace that already had a hole drilled for the bulk head. We set up all the pipes and filled the tank with water to make sure it all works correctly. There's a leak coming from the bulk head. We tried to tighten the bulk head but it's still leaking. We think the hole was drilled too big. Is there anyway to fix this? Can you use some kind of sicilone or sealant around the bulk head? We're trying to find a way to fix this before going out and spending the money on a new tank. Any help we be awesome!

Do you have the gasket on the correct side? Should be inside the aquarium, other side of glass that the nut is on.

Put the bulkhead through hole and ensure gasket covers the drilled hole. If it does you are good. I always wrench tighten bulkheads contrary to popular belief that hand tight only is sufficient.

On a used tank, make sure the glass on the inside is very clean.

You should not need any kind of sealant. It could be that you need a new gasket, since it's been used and compressed already.

What is the diameter of the hole? There should be very little slop between the hole & the bulkhead.

How much difference is there between the hole and the diameter of the bulkhead fitting?
Was the bulkhead fitting one that came with the tank?

New gaskets can solve alot of issues.
Good luck..
