Leaking sump

I have been gone from home for six days on a trip to Denmark for work. I got home a few hours ago and checked on the tank. Noticed that the floor of my stand was wet. Found out that my sump was leaking at one of the seams. I turned off the return pump and emptied the sump so it wouldn't bust open overnight. What should I do? I'm thinking about getting a 20 gal tank from petco tomorrow just to get it running until I can get a real sump delivered. The tank is a 125g 6ft. I do not have room in the stand for a 40 breeder. I think I will go with a triton 26 sump. Any suggestions?

hi sorry to hear,grab anything to get back running,option to weld sump if attatched to it,weld on 16,will work

This sump was really on its last leg.it was patched with weld on once before. The heater was in the sump. So I have it turned off. Should I put it in the tank for the night?

I don't think it is likely that the sump would bust open. There is such a small amount of water in a sump that the water pressure is insufficient to cause the king of catastrophic failure you might see if it was a 125gallon display tank.

Can you post some pics of the sump and the seam where it is leaking? It would be helpful in better assessing your situation.

Ended up getting a blemished Ruby 30.got it put in last night. Kinda wish I would have bought a 36.

How much water did you loose? Do you have an ato that may have diluted you salinity?

And yes a 20g will definitly work as a temp or even permanent solution. I believe a 30g long is also the same depth and height.

I'd be more concerned with the state of your stand than your sump right now. You need to get in there and wipe it clean, soak it with fresh water to draw out what salt you can from the wood, then get a dehumidifyer and fans running.
