Hi
Just turned on my 57 watt aqua uv
And it seems to be leaking.

Running a ecotech s2 at full speed.
I’ve included a pic. My index finger is pointing to the area where the leak is coming from. Looks like their is a spot where it wasn't glued. You think you pay $500 for a u.v you wouldn't need to deal with this kinda stuff. Don't get me started with them not included a pair of mounting clips. Maybe ill run to home cheap-o and pick up a new fitting. I should have just gotten the 2" model and glued it my self.

Im so stressed out this week. Ive got flukes killing three fish in my tank just in the past week. Powder blue, Flame angel and my week old $250 French angel. My year old tomini tang is not looking great either.
And my emperor angel has a crazy Popeye going on. Dosed with kanaplex. dosed 120 ml of praziquantel.

Yes you need to glue these pieces together. Any pvc glue will do the trick. Good luck!

thanks. just checked it, looks like it was factory glued. ....But missed a 1/2" bead around the fitting
This hobby, it never end. This entire month has been hell.

Thanks.
I literally bought the French angel (juvenile) for $250.. 1 week later dead.

Oh, if you bought the 3/4” uv, that should’ve been glued from the factory. Must’ve just been a bad day for the person or robot that did it. Did you buy it new?

yes I bought it new. I literally took it out of the box three days ago, and finally got around to setting it up last night.

installed a new s1 vector pump, turned on the pump and uv, then a nice leak was slowly coming out of the " glued " area..

For $500 you think they would double check that.

I'm think ill run to home cheap and get a new bushing. I contacted aqua , see what happens

Are you able to get the old bushing out? If it’s cemented in, its going to be hard to remove without damaging the union.

Went to my local home center picked up a new 2” union and 2x3/4 bushing
Let’s see what happens

I know the threads are different. Hopefully the slip portion fits/seals.

I hope so to.
But dealing with incompetence of my local home center is priceless
