Bought a junk joy swan ro/di unit and have run about 40 gallons through so far and I'm still getting this.

HAve a seachem 3 stage and was to lazy to get replacement filters for it. I thought this cheap little thing would do the trick but not so much lol.

Honestly, it could just be the resin and what not need changed. Were it me, I’d try and replace the resins and cartridge media before completely writing your unit off. And it may just be you need to add an extra carbon unit.

Weird question: did you mix the RODI with saltwater before testing? This checker does not work in freshwater.Bought a junk joy swan ro/di unit and have run about 40 gallons through so far and I'm still getting this.
A more accurate test kit for RODI is a TDS meter - should read 0.

Really?? I thought it just tested phosphate but I could be wrong. I'll try after mixing salt tomorrow and post results.

Unit is brand new and resin is still dark so it should be fine.

Expect something readable though with some salt do include phosphate.
