does any one have any experience with the photon app? in doing some research i found the app and came to the conclusion that it is fairly accurate. I tested my tank and found i had 500 par on the top of my reef. I couldnt figure out why some of the corals were bleaching or just looking terrible in general and this has to be why as all my parameters are stable and in acceptable levels. I have an ai prime 16 hd and was under the assumption i was over lighting my corals in the nuvo 20.

Was the 500 PAR near the water line in air or submerged in water? There will be a fairly significant difference between the two.

I highly doubt an aI prime is giving 500 par underwater on the rocks
Maybe I’m wrong

What are your channels set to?

^^
Nuvo 20. two AI Primes, 9 inch mounting height, with the AB+ interpretation spectrum run at 70% intensity to get 250-300 PAR in the middle of the tank.

currently
UV-65
Violet 65
Royal- 75
Blue-75
green 5
red 5
moon 0
White 23

before I had uv and violet up to 90 and both blues at 110 with whites at 35.

I'm just going off the photon app and all the reading i've done had it being fairly accurate within 20-30 par.

light is about 10 inches off the top of the tank. and rock work is about 7 inches under the surface.

Photon app is dependent on your phone and it’s camera, there’s a lot of variables. It could be accurate on a iPhone 15 but less accurate on an iPhone 11

fair enough. im hoping its fairly accurate as I dont have a par meter and they are ridiculously expensive. but the corals are way happier i have way better polyp extension just a few hours later.

Coral happiness and visual response is most important

I will say, I own a prime 16hd over a 15g Waterbox. Your initial values were high

At peak I run

UV-70
Violet 70
Royal- 75
Blue-75
green 5
red 5
moon 0
White 10
