The 1st tank look this morning the smaller of my 2 clownfish is lying underneath a rock and after touching him could tell he is clearly dead. Doesn't seem too have any marks other than some torn fins , but a shrimp was picking at it when I found it. Both of my clowns were lightning maroon clowns purchased together. They were close too the same size then but the bigger 1 was close too twice the smaller clowns size. Before the clown died my bigger clown stayed in a green bubble-tip anemone (which he/she kept the smaller clown out of) and only occasionally visited either of 2 rose bta's. The smaller clown watched over both rbta's. Now 2 fire shrimp have tried too move in on 1 of the roses the remaining clown commenced driving both the shrimp out and now seems too service both rbta's sleeping in 1, only visiting the gbta that has been his home for the last 2 months. I suspect the bigger clown may have been transitioning possibly killing the smaller clown. All my other fish seem fine. I really wanted a pair of clowns and don't know how I could introduce another without the same problem.
